FlowSocial and TikTok
FlowSocial lets a creator schedule a video once and have it published to their own TikTok account at the time they chose, using TikTok's official Content Posting API.
How a video gets to TikTok
- Connect. In FlowSocial, the creator chooses to connect their TikTok account. They are sent to TikTok's own authorization page, sign in there, and approve the permissions listed below. FlowSocial never sees their TikTok password.
- Write. The creator adds a video and the text for the post. The text is sent to TikTok exactly as written, within TikTok's 2,200-character limit.
- Schedule. The creator picks the date and time on the FlowSocial calendar.
- Publish. At that time FlowSocial uploads the video to the creator's TikTok account through the Content Posting API and publishes it. The post's status — scheduled, published or failed, with the reason — is shown in FlowSocial.
Permissions we request
| Scope | What FlowSocial uses it for |
|---|---|
user.info.basic | To show which TikTok account is connected (display name and profile picture), so the creator knows where a post will go. |
video.publish | To upload and publish the video the creator scheduled, to their own account. |
We request nothing else.
What we store, and what we do not
- The connected account's TikTok identifier, display name and profile-picture link.
- The access and refresh tokens TikTok issues. They are kept in an encrypted secrets vault, separate from the application's ordinary data tables.
- The posts the creator wrote and scheduled in FlowSocial, and the result of publishing each one.
- The creator's other TikTok videos, followers or messages.
- The creator's TikTok password.
Who can see a published video
FlowSocial asks TikTok which visibility options the creator's account allows and uses one of them. TikTok limits apps that have not yet completed its app review to private (“only me”) posting, so until FlowSocial's review is complete, videos published through FlowSocial are private to the creator.
Control and removal
- Nothing is posted that the creator did not write and schedule themselves.
- The creator can disconnect their TikTok account in FlowSocial at any time. That removes the stored tokens and the account record from FlowSocial, and scheduled posts for it stop.
- The creator can also remove FlowSocial's access from inside TikTok, in their TikTok account's app-permission settings.
- To have other data deleted, follow the data deletion instructions, or write to support@moneyflow-ai.com.
The full terms are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
